Superhero Visitor

October 4th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

We have had an exciting day in Year 2. We were lucky enough to be visited by a Superhero.

We watched a News Report about a robbery that had taken place, which told us that a superhero was heading to

St. Augustines.

We prepared lots of questions, making sure that we included our Question Marks.

We loved asking our visitor all of our questions. We are going to use all of this information to help us write our own reports.

What question did you ask Supergirl?

PE Challenge

October 3rd, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Today in P.E we were carrying on from our last lesson. We had already worked hard on our hopping, skipping and galloping. Now it was time to begin the next set of challenges. Today we worked on:

-Hopscotch

-Pivoting

-Side-stepping

Initially we found these quite challenging. However, with lots of practice and feedback from the teacher we have begun to get better.

We had to think very carefully about where we stood for side-stepping, making sure we were aware of the space around us.

Hopscotch required a lot of concentration as we didn’t want to mess up the pattern that we were creating.

Today in P.E we focused on a new story ‘ The Birthday Bike Surprise’.

We began our exploration of the story with the warm up ‘Rock, paper & Scissors’, however this didn’t involve our hands. It included our entire bodies.

The story led us to the ‘Dirt Track’. The class split across both sides of it.

We then used a variety of movements to travel from one side of the dirt track to the other.

Nat Fantastic

September 13th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Assembly was cancelled today due to years 5 and 6 having archery lessons in the hall. So we used the opportunity to read the story ‘Nat Fantastic’ by the author Giles Andreae which Mrs Houghton had kindly brought into school for us to read. We thoroughly enjoyed the story of Nat the little boy who becomes the superhero Nat Fantastic each time he sneezes and goes off on an exciting adventure.

What was your favourite part of the story?
